Almost two years after Canadian rapper Shadrach Kabango, aka Shad, shelled out The Old Prince, the 2008 Polaris Music Prize, Juno Awards, and Rap Recording of the Year nominated album masterpiece is finally getting some love in the States — about fucking time, right? Last week, Shad’s sophomore effort received a proper U.S. release through Black Box Recordings/EMI and he will be spending the summer supporting it with a stint on the VANS Warped Tour.
In celebration of this long overdue success, Shad has unveiled a brand new music video, this for The Old Prince‘s single, “The Compromise”. Starting off with a man frantically chasing after Shads fancy convertible in slow motion, The Compromise proves a sophisticated and sexy escapade for Shad and his classy female cohort. As the pair travels to the top of an outrageously tall skyscraper, CGI and green screen effects aid in creating an exciting and visually stimulating elevator ride that seems to last forever. At the top, the pair compares and contrasts different paintings of nature and quaint vacation spots. Honestly, were not sure what Shads trying to insinuate with all this, but if you pay close attention youll catch a glimpse of 80s heart-throb, Zach Morris.
