Yo La Tengo hasn’t put out a proper LP since 2006’s I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass, but the New Jersey rockers have been busy all the same. The band has made a handful of festival appearances, including Pitchfork last weekend, recorded the score to Adventureland, and even opened for Wilco last week. What’s more, as previously reported, its new album, Popular Songs, will hit stores on September 8th.

At this point, you can probably guess more news is now coming. Right you are…

You can get an early listen to the thing when you pre-order it through Matador’s Buy Early Get Now program. The value is pretty incredible. When you do so, not only do you get to stream the album in its entirety on August 4th, but you also get bonus track mp3. But wait, there’s more. You’ll also receive a vinyl copy of the trio’s Adventureland score, a poster, and the opportunity to pick the physical CD or LP up at your local retailer. Man is that a lot of stuff for the Yo La Tengo fan to be excited about. It could almost make you wish you were a fanatic.

But that’s not all YLT has announced. A lengthy, lengthy string of tour dates has also been made available.  No openers have been confirmed as of yet, but Black Lips will open the group’s NYC stop. There are plenty of dates to choose from, so take your pick and get to purchasing. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, July 24th via Ticketmaster.com.
