One thing will be sure about Built to Spill’s new studio album: By the time There Is No Enemy hits record stores in October, it will have been quite road tested. In support of the followup to 2006’s You in Reverse, the Idaho outfit has unveiled a North American tour that spans from late August to late Novemeber.
The trek launches on August 20th in the band’s home state of Idaho and circles the U.S. and Canada (a few times) before ending on November 21st in Spokane, Washington. Highlights include an appearance at the Outside Lands Festival this month and dates with Dinosaur Jr. in October. Tickets for the dates can be found via Ticketmaster.com.
“It’s pretty poppy, I guess. With lots of guitars,” frontman Doug Martsch said of the upcoming album in an interview with the Denver Westword (via LiveDaily). “I don’t know how it’s going to come off, and whether it’ll sound raw or polished. Hopefully, it’ll sound more on the raw side. It’s our first digital record, so that’s why I’m a little bit concerned about it sounding raw.”
