Despite knocking on the Grim Reaper’s door and nearing absurd levels of revitalist desperation, Jerry Only and The Misfits are about to let all hell break lose as they prepare for their fall 2009 tour.
Originally disbanded in 1983, Only dragged the horror-punk monstrosity out from the depths in the early 1990s. What started with the somewhat well-received American Psycho album in ’97 — which featured Michale Graves (the lighter, less ripe for satire version of Glenn Danzig) — turned into the 2003 hit-or-miss nod to ’50s cheese horror, Project 1950. The band now works as a trio, with former drummer Robo back in the fold and Black Flag guitarist Dez Cadena rounding out the trinity of demonic rock.
The tour kicks off on October 3rd in Tucson, AZ and will claim victims across the country before winding down in mid-December. As for any plans for a new record, the band is as silent as a crypt.
