Over the last two years, the dynamic Kiwi duo better known as Flight of the Conchords has captured our hearts and made us laugh so hard we choked on our spaghetti. And with two hilarious seasons and a couple of wonderful accompanying soundtracks under their belt, one would think that this was just the beginning for Bret and Jemaine. Sadly, however, were not so sure thats what these boys want.
According to Rhys Darby, who plays the duos quirky manager, Murray Hewitt, the guitar-based, digi-bongo, acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo (as theyve dubbed themselves) want to take a momentary pause before deciding the shows future. Darby was caught saying to NME, Theres no decision made. Theres been orders for another season, but I know the guys have a British mentality where you create something, you finish it, and move on.
So it seems that for the moment Flight of the Conchords has an undetermined future and could literally come back as a movie, a stage show, or worst of all: nothing. Hopefully, these boys are just in need of a brief vacation. Surely they know that our lives just wouldnt be the same without them, right?
