Paramore unveils brand new eyes on new tour, video

Hayley Williams and the boys of Paramore are growing up right in front of our very eyes. It seems like it was only yesterday when they wore neon clothing, donned odd haircuts, and sang about crushes and letting one’s heart win. Now Paramore is back and darker (and more nu metal) than ever.

After success, media attention, infighting, and the other glorious trappings of rock stardom, the band is back with its follow up to 2007’s Riot! Entitled brand new eyes, the album is from a much more hardened band, driving the thematic flags of broken heartedness and isolation home with much heavier sounds. To demonstrate just how much the band has grown up, Paramore, which spent some time backing up No Doubt, will hit the road at the end of September and thrash through much of the country before ending in its home state of Tennessee in November.

To prove the new-found cynicism, the band filmed a video for the first single “Ignorance”. Featuring the Tennesseans playing in what is either a closet or our first dorm room, Williams spends equal time singing into a light bulb, and convulsing around in a glass tube like a pop-punk Bjork. If that last part doesn’t peak your interest, nothing will.
