For its fourth studio album, Asobi Seksu will look to offer a fresh take on songs spanning the band’s career, replacing “sonic layer of guitars with beautiful new arrangements achieved mainly through the use of acoustic instruments.”

You see, at the urging of One Little Indian owner Derek Birkett, the duo of vocalist Yuki Chikudate and guitarist James Hanna and embraced the opportunity to record at Olympic Studios on an off day during its 2008 UK tour, only months before the 50-year old studio closed its doors for good. The result is Rewolf, a collection of songs said to “re-imagine the texturized dream-pop of the band’s three prior full-lengths” by taking an acoustic approach.

Mixed by touring bassist Billy Pavone, the effort will also include  tracks previously only available as b-sides as well as a cover of Hope Sandoval’s (Mazzy Star) “Suzanne”. It will be available beginning November 10th via Polyvinyl.

Asobi Seksu will support the release with a series of acoustic shows in various cities around the world. Find a complete listing of the confirmed tour dates below.
