Looking to make the most of Wednesday’s massive Beatles reissues, EMI has expanded distribution beyond traditional record outlets, to include retailers such as 7-Eleven, Starbucks, Whole Foods, Pathmark, Blockbuster, and Restoration Hardware.
So, while you can’t buy me love, you can buy Slurpees and a remastered copy of Magical Mystery Tour at the same exact time!
“It will allow us to reach the everyday places people shop,” said Bill Gagnon, svp, catalogue marketing for EMI Music North America (via Brandweek). “We’re bringing the music to where they are.”
Well, everywhere aside from iTunes, though there are rumors afloat that say The Beatles and Steve Jobs will be uniting sooner rather than later.
Basically, The Beatles are here, there and everywhere.
