Facebook the website becomes Facebook the movie with Justin Timberlake

It was bad enough when the nerds that created Facebook struck it big and earned themselves bags of cash and the reputation of kings of the Internet. But now they get their own movie, starring Justin Timberlake. Some guys have all the luck.

Thanks to reports by Variety (via Prefix Magazine), we’ve learned that Timberlake will star as Napster co-founder turned Facebook president Sean Parker. The movie, appropriately titled The Social Network, will also (tentatively) star Jessie Eisenberg of Adventureland as Mark Zuckerberg, and Andrew Garfield from The Last Boleyn Girl as Eduardo Saverin. The film will be written by Aaron Sorkin of West Wing fame and will be directed by David Fincher (who helmed The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). The whole thing will be based off Ben Mezrich’s Accidental Billionaires book.

The film will, rather predictably, follow their huge explosive journey from young upstart Ivy League graduates to technology rock stars with plenty of money and issues to work out.

According to IMDB, the movie should hit theaters in 2010.
