Phish unveils possibilites for Halloween cover album set

Unlike an acoustic set (which will be happening for the first time this year), it is tradition for Phish to play a cover album set during its hosted music festivals, with past selections including The Beatles’ White Album, The Velvet Underground’s Loaded, Talking Heads’ Remain in Light, and The Who’s Quadrophenia.

As for what’s on tap for the forthcoming Phish Festival 8? Well, based on the album covers currently displayed on Phish’s website, Trey Anastasio and Co. will choose from quite the extensive and eclectic list. After all, how else would you explain a list that sports almost 100 names and features names like Led Zeppelin’s IV, Arcade Fire’s Funeral, David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust, MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular, Pavement’s Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, Prince’s Purple Rain, and, wait for it… Radiohead’s Kid A.

No word on when the list will be narrowed down to just one, but once it is, we’ll let you know.
