Now here’s something cool: Just months after sharing Black Ice, AC/DC has announced plans to release a rarities retrospective spanning its 36-year career. The Australian outfit is calling it Backtracks and the deluxe edition comes in a working AC/DC guitar amp. Yes, them Aussies rock that hard.
For someone who’s sick of hearing “Shook Me All Night Long” at every damn bar I go to, this rarities set should be a nice treat. And if I’m not the only one who’s after treats, then consider yourselves in luck.The standard edition of Backtracks will feature two CDs of studio and live rarities and a Family Jewels 3 DVD, along with bonus video. But we all know that won’t be enough for the hardcore fans, so AC/DC has prepared a deluxe edition, which includes (Take a deep breath):
Three CDs of live and studio rarities, two DVDs, a vinyl album of studio collectibles, a 164-page coffee table book, facsimiles of authentic memorabilia, an AC/DC guitar plectrum, a replica Bon Scott tattoo and more. As mentioned, the deluxe edition also comes in an AC/DC guitar amplifier.
