Lil Wayne to release two albums in 2009; a little bird told us

It’s been a big year for Lil Wayne. Tha Carter III found stupid success for Weezy F. Baby since its June 2008 release, not to mention that his rock album The Rebirth has the music world waiting in nervous anticipation. But the year’s about to get bigger thanks to the news that the next chapter in Tha Carter series will be hitting shelves in time for Christmas.

As pointed out by Pitchfork, Cash Money CEO Birdman recently revealed to MTV UK the label’s plans to get their star attraction in line for an even bigger 2010. First, The Rebirth, which has been pushed back a few times, will be out this year, albeit in a new format. Secondly, Tha Carter IV has what we hope is a concrete release date.

Tha Carter 4 is out December 15,” Birdman said. “We won’t release The Rebirth as a double CD like people are saying. Both will be out before 2010. We’re looking to take over the game completely, flood the market. The Grammys are ours next year.”

And if that isn’t enough of a window into the Wayne’s World, the biopic about the Young Money CEO, The Carter, which premiered at Sundance, will be released by Virgin Films and Entertainment on November 17th. Can anyone say stocking stuffer?
