New Animal Collective just in time for the holidays?

If is correct, then hipsters and music enthusiasts-alike will come together this holiday season to rejoice, as it seems that Animal Collective may be following up this year’s super-duper-ultra-awesome Merriweather Post Pavilion as early as this December! Whoa, that was a mouthful… let’s back up.

The fellas over at Pitchfork did some early holiday shopping this morning and came across an area advertising a new AC-related release, titled Fall Be Kind. The odd thing is it’s due to hit streets December 8th and you can pre-order it now for $11.38!

All this being said, there is a possibility that the release — which, given the status reading “Domino is….Fall Be Kind” on the label’s website, we can assume is indeed happening — might not be an LP. After all, the kids on the band’s unofficial forum, Collected Animals, have been speculating the possibility of a new EP for weeks. What’s more, wasn’t there something about a visual album being talked about earlier this year? Yeah, so let’s not assume this in indeed the followup to MPP quite yet.

What we do know for sure is that the band will be reissuing its 2003 album, Campfire Songs, on January 26th via Paw Tracks. So, either way, expect a lot of Animal Collective in the weeks and months ahead.

Campfire Songs Tracklist:
01. Queen In My Pictures
02. Doggy
03. Two Corvettes
04. Moo Rah Rah Rain
05. De Soto De Son
