GNR to tour South America in spring…

If you recall, Guns N’ Roses plan to tour soon. Rumors surfaced as early as this past September, when dates in India and Japan circulated around the net, and things came to fruition when Canadian dates hit the market. Now there are more dates to kick around, and while it’d make sense to hit North America next, Axl Rose has instead opted for South America.

Yes, this Spring, the band will take on a string of South American dates, starting on March 10th and ending a month later… on April 10th. This all comes from Guns N’ Roses’ official site, which must be on its last breath right now, and its MySpace and Facebook accounts. According to Rolling Stone, “Guns n’ Roses are expected to perform four shows in four different cities in Brazil, two concerts at Buenos Aires, Argentina’s Estádio Monumental de Nunez and one gig apiece in Peru, Chile and Venezuela.” That should make up for all those canceled appearances at Rock in Rio over the years (Ahem, they haven’t played since ’01).

Of course, that leaves out a whole month for North America, but odds are they’ll come back for summer. Can we say… Rothbury? Bonnaroo? We’ll have to see, but don’t count out this LA unit just yet. After all, what better way to celebrate Chinese Democracy than both a.) two years late and b.) at a music festival?
