Jay-Z collaborates with many different high-profile musicians, such as U2, Kanye & Rihanna, Drake, Alicia Keys (x2!), and Regina Spektor (maybe?). However, as it turns out, one act did turn down Hova’s request.
In a recent interview with Gotham Magazine (via MSNBC), the rapper revealed that he had reached out to fellow Brooklynites MGMT in hopes of collaborating on a track for the recently released The Blueprint 3. But as Jay-Z explained, despite rumors to the contrary, “MGMT turned me down.” Perhaps they’re too busy with their own new album… or are Phillies fans.
Either way, at least that’s two people you won’t have to fight with to score tickets to Jay-Z’s newly announced U.S. tour. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, November 13th (pre-sales start on the 10th) via Ticketmaster.com.
