Having realized that they can’t record their next studio album and tour the country at the same time, Scott Weiland and the Stone Temple Pilots have scrapped their the remaining U.S. dates. As Rolling Stone reports, instead of continuing on to the states following a November worth of Canadian tour dates, the rock outfit will hit the studio to begin work on the followup to 2001’s Shangri-La Dee Da.
According to the band’s official website, the yet-to-be-titled effort is due out in the Spring of 2010. However, a legal battle between STP and label Atlantic Records over whether Weiland and Co. are free agents or not could delay the release. You know, because nothing is easy when it comes to this band.
Stone Temple Pilots are expected to return to the road following the release of the album. Find their remaining tour dates below.
