Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold, was found dead at his Huntington Beach, California home on Monday (Dec. 28), The Orange County Register reports. He was 28-years-old. Police are still investigating the incident, with an autopsy still pending.
Avenged Sevenfold has since released a statement on its website:
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy’s family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time
The band was said to be currently recordings a new album. We’ll update you as more information becomes available.
