Check Out: Joanna Newsom’s new songs (in high quality)

In less than a month!, the music world will have a whole batch — three discs worth!!! — of new material from the one and only Joanna Newsom. However, because the California native seems to be into the idea of secrets and surprises, we haven’t gotten a lot of info on Have One On Me, aside from an interview that ended up being fake, a comic strip cryptically announcing the album’s title, and some shaky-at-best YouTube videos from her currently ongoing Australian tour.

Well, today, that all changed — a little bit. As seen on Drag City’s website, the album artwork is now available, as is a track titled “81”.

What’s more, thanks to the glory that is a tape recorder, we now have a higher quality preview of several other selections from Ms. Newsom’s forthcoming third LP. A recording of the musician’s recent performance at the Sydney Opera House is now available on the Australian website Fan Made Recordings, and included are several new selections sought to be on the album, such as “Jack Rabbits”, “In California”, “Autumn”, and “Ribbon Bows”.

You can check out a few of these recordings below and the entire bootleg here. The complete setlist from the concert follows. Now, I’ll quit writing so you can devote your full attention to Ms. Newsom…

Have One On Me is due out February 23rd via Drag City. Pre-order now!
