Shane MacGowan, Nick Cave, Primal Scream, and Johnny Depp team up for Haiti song

We’ve already seen quite a few once-in-a-lifetime musical collaborations spawn in benefit of Haiti (Jay-Z + U2; Dave + Neil; Thom + friends). But this one might just take the cake:

According to The Guardian, Nick Cave, Johnny Depp (he’s a musician too, don’t you know!), The Pogues’ Shane MacGowan, and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie are reportedly teaming up for a charity single. Though exact details of the project are still unclear, the high-profile foursome, along with singer and actress Vanessa Paradis, are said to be recording a cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins 1956 hit “I Put a Spell On You”, with all proceeds from the song’s sale going to the Haiti earthquake relief.

In other Haiti benefit news, the recently released Hope For Haiti Now was the first digitial-only release to hit #1. Good news, Haiti gets lots of money. Bad news, Ezra got bumped.
