Widespread Panic, Allman Brothers head Wanee Festival 2010

The Allman Borthers Band’s now annual music celebration, the Wanee Music Festival, will return to Live Oak, Florida this April 16th and 17th for its sixth go-around. And if the recently announced 2010 bill is any indication, the two-day event is quickly becoming, as one CoS reader put it, a hippie’s paradise.

After all, both the Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic will headline this year’s festivities with two performances each. What’s more, acts like Gov’t Mule, The Black Keys, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, The Wailers, and Stephen Stills are all also confirmed participants.

The Dead’s Bob Weir will also be making an appearance, this time as part of a collaboration called Bob Weir, Rob Wasserman & Jay Lane are Scaring The Children, as will Bill Kreutzmann, who will be teaming up with Papa Mali. Finally, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk will appear to perform the music of Sly & the Family Stone. Yep, hippie’s paradise.

Two-day passes and VIP ticket packages will be available starting Friday, January 22nd via the festival’s website.
