It’s safe to say that the wonderful weirdness generated on stage by Of Montreal has, for good or bad, intrigued and often enthralled music fans the world over. Now you can get a look into that insanity/absurdity with the band’s new tour documentary, Family Nouveau.

According to Pitchfork (via the Playlist), the documentary was shot throughout the band’s 2009 European tour by English professor Spenser Simrill Jr., and while the it will also feature the band’s extravagant make-up and pageantry that comprises their stage show, the movie will also feature men in pig costumes and a boatload of pushups. Now that’s wacky!

The move will debut on March 5th at the Chicago International Movies and Music Festival. For tickets and showtimes, head here. Can’t make it? Enjoy the trailer below. And you can also savor the wait for their new album. A few tour dates this April should ease the pain.
