Never a man for rest, Jack White now insists that The Dead Weather will have its followup in your ears by April — as in this April. Yes, less than a year after its debut, last year’s Horehound, The Dead Weather will be conquering the sophomore slump… and with Jack White at the lead, apparently. Someone get the respirator, we’re about to have a heart attack.

In an interview with Australian radio station, Triple J, White told listeners, “[The Dead Weather are] finishing recording the last couple of songs and then I’m going to start mixing in the next two weeks, so yeah it should be out in April.” He then broke news that he, not Alison Mosshart, would be singing front and center on the album’s first single, “Blue Blood Blues”. Oh, he also hinted that the new record will be “bluesier and heavier than we ever thought we could be.” How is that even possible? Right, stupid question to ask.

White also leaked some details about Third Man Records, alluding to another pop-up shop that will sneak up, attack, and surprise folks down in Austin, TX during SXSW. So for those attending, keep your eye out for a Third Man Records and Novelties kiosk-thingie-majig.

Sigh, it’s only February, Mr. White. Going for the Artist of the Decade award again, are we?
