Wayne Coyne steps outside giant bubble to announce more Flaming Lips tour dates

If you’ve ever seen a live show by the abstract space rockers The Flaming Lips you know better than to think these guys are normal. From bright lights to circular stage props to naked girls with sheep masks, The Flaming Lips are beyond imagination! So, can you even begin to picture what their idea of a dream house might look like? Well, fear not! Pictures of lead singer Wayne Coyne’s futuristic house in Oklahoma have recently sprung their way onto the internet. Let’s just say its space shuttle meets translucent bubble equip with Frank Lloyd Wright angles. Interested?

Fitzsimmons Architecture is the source for this trippy madness in the form of a house and a catalogue of pictures from inside the house can now be found on their website. When asked Fitzsimmons Architechture responded to the house’s finished appearance commenting, “Having seen Coyne’s appropriately trippy poop cave, it’s got me wondering if other musicians’ homes reflect their sensibilities as closely. Is John Mayer’s house ordinary and forgettable on the outside but chaotically and impenetrably decorated on the inside? Does Prince’s Minneapolis home have a bunch of sex swings? Yes, yes, I’m sure it does”. Can’t blame them for wondering, eh? The similarities between Coyne’s home and his newly designed home and some of the band’s wicked stage props are unmistakably alike. For instance, their much admired giant plastic floating bubble.

In other, equally cool news, The Flaming Lips will be performing at select locations over the next couple of months, including a special appearance at Bonnaroo where they’ll be performing Dark Side of the Moon alongside Stardeath and White Dwarfs. Below you’ll find a full list of dates as well as an interesting MTV Cribs style interview/tour of their new place.
