Guru is in stable condition

Best news of the day: Gang Starr member and legendary producer Keith Elam, aka Guru, has come out of his three-week long coma and is in stable condition, HipHopDX reports (via Prefix).

The 43-year-old rapper, who went into a coma after suffering a heart attack on February 28th, has been diagnosed with Anoxia, a condition which affects both breathing and oxygen levels for organ tissues. Solar, the rapper’s present production partner and spokesperson for the rapper said in a statement to HipHopDX that it is unclear when Guru will be released from the hospital, but did note he fully appreciates the recent fan support.

“The outpouring of love from around the world has been tremendous,” explained Solar. “I’m reading some of the best e-mails, texts and Twitters that come in and Guru enjoys them. I think that’s what has been helping his recovery and what’s got him in there fighting.”
