Lady Gaga sets more European dates, North American tour imminent

In just February alone, we told you that Lady Gaga got stoned and saw visions of Thom Yorke, was called a satanist by everyone’s favorite cartoon band, and was added to Lollapalooza 2010’s massive line-up. Well, it’s a new month full of new promises, and while we don’t have any wondrous tales involving cocaine and experimental rock singers (yet), we do bring news of an expanded European tour and promises of further North American dates this June.

Gaga was originally supposed to end her run in Europe on March 8th. But, the woman behind The Fame Monster will return to the continent in early May for shows in Stockholm, Sweden, Paris, France, London, UK, and more before heading home on June 4th. Then, she’ll hit 30 cities for an arena tour that same month. Perhaps drug use isn’t just for communing with Thom Yorke after all?

Opening up for Gaga on tour will be glam rockers Semi Precious Weapons. Turns out, before she became a mega superstar, Gaga opened for the band during shows in New York City.

“When we met her, we were doing shows here bringing, like, 300 people or so, and we were looking for bands to open for us,” bassist Cole Whittle told MTV. “They were all boring, but she was fun and partied, and her and [Gaga’s performing partner] Lady Starlight had a really cool show.”

But even now, with the tons of money and the legions of fans, it seems as if Ms. Stefani Germanotta has always been a decent person.

“She was big fans of ours before we met her. She was so grateful to be playing with us, ’cause she loved us so much,” singer Justin Tranter said. “She was like, ‘I’ve never seen so many people! Thank you so much for letting me open.’ It’s obviously a little different now. Them tables have turned! (Back then,) it was still the most awesome thing we’d ever seen. It’s still the most awesome show we ever saw. She’s always been the coolest girl!”

More details on that arena tour once they become available.
