Soon enough, M.I.A.‘s much-anticipated third LP will be serving as serving as our summer soundtrack. And with it, comes what should be a slew of supporting tour dates, which should fill our summer calendar. One such date, the first to be confirmed in the continental United States, will take place on Saturday, July 17th at The Cornfields of Los Angeles State Historic Park. The event will be produced by music promoters HARD. Tickets for the show go on sale starting Friday, March 26th via Groove Tickets. Additional details, including who will be happening, have not yet been unveiled.

As is stands now, the musician born Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam has three four upcoming dates on her itinerary, with the other two being festival appearances in Europe. Update: TwentyFourBit notes that M.I.A. also has a date scheduled for New York City on July 24th.

Now would also be a good time to note that M.I.A. recently teamed up with Brooklyn pop duo Sleigh Bells for its debut LP. Due out on May 11th via M.I.A.’s NEET imprint and Mom + Pop, the record was produced by Derek Miller, who also recently did some work on M.I.A.’s aforementioned third LP.
