How many vans does it take to haul a folk troubadour and his eight-piece band across the United States?
Damien Jurado is set to find out on his upcoming summer tour to support his new album, Saint Bartlett. The 31-stop journey starts in Seattle, Wash. and winds its way up the Mountain States, through the Midwest and Northeast, and across the Bible belt before returning to the West Coast in July.
Jurado, who almost quit touring altogether, will have plenty of company on the road. Eight members from the opening band, Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, will help him flesh out songs from Saint Bartlett with violin, cello, keys, and a bevy of horns. The album, out May 25th, is Jurado’s tenth full-length and his fourth release on Secretly Canadian.
