Electro-noise rock band HEALTH has turned to friends for a new remix album, featuring new versions of songs from 2009 sophomore LP Get Color. It’s called Disco2, and it drops June 22nd on Lovepump United Records. This will be the band’s second remix release, after HEALTH gave its self-titled debut a similar treatment in the form of HEALTH//DISCO, which featured the well-known Crystal Castles version of “Crimewave”.
The quartet has once again enlisted Crystal Castles for this go-round (for a remix of “Eat Flesh”), along with CFCF (for “Before Tigers”). New — and exciting — names appearing on the LP will be Tobacco, Javelin, Salem, Gold Panda, and more. The lead single will be opener “USA BOYS”, which was mixed by Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine).
We might just get a chance to hear some of these new takes live, too — HEALTH takes to the road this summer with Indian Jewelry and Gold Panda, the latter of which remixed “Before Tigers” for the album. The North American tour hits clubs around the continent for most of June, along with a stop at Lollapalooza in August. See the tracklist for Disco2 and full tour dates below.
