First, the bad news. After putting on a few fabulous performances, including an appearance at this year’s Coachella, the newly reunited Specials unexpectedly postponed last night’s concert in Toronto, citing “an emergency medical ailment.” Hopefully everyone is ok!
Now, the good news. The legendary outfit will still play its two previously announced shows in New York, set for tonight and tomorrow. What’s more, according to a report from Brooklyn Vegan, the Toronto performance will be rescheduled in August. At this time we’re expecting the date to be moved to sometime during the “fourth week of August,” which coincidentally coincides with the band’s free performance in Central Park on August 22nd. And yes, we’re still waiting to hear word about the Specials much anticipated full tour of the U.S., but at least we know it’s still in the works.
