At Your Funeral: What if it weren’t up to you?

At your funeral

I know I’m supposed to choose one song. But as much as I would like to come back from the dead and control the musical choices of the ones I leave behind, let’s be real…it’s not going to happen. Besides, I think they’re already sick of my radio scanning habits while I’m alive.

So what if us music snobs had to give someone else a chance for once? What’s the worst that could happen? In some respects, it might be easier. Think about it, how hard is it to choose your favorite song of the week, let alone one to represent your entire life? Talk about a crisis, right?

Well, I’ve been putting together a list of possible choices the planners of your funeral could make… of course, we’re looking into the lyrical content here. Who knows if you’ll haunt a friend, or if you even have a cousin in overalls, these are all “what-if” choices, people.

Please, please, please keep that in mind.

Let’s start with…

  • A friend who went through your music library and chose a song based on the title…

  • The person you haunt…

  • Someone who dated you once…

  • Your roommate from Oklahoma

  • Your partner in crime

  • Someone who didn’t get to say goodbye…

  • Someone who is okay they didn’t get to say goodbye…

  • Your cousin with the overalls…

  • A person on to your killer…

Have some more ideas to add to this list? Throw ‘em my way.
