Carissa’s Wierd plan Seattle reunion show

There’s been a lot of news lately about bands breaking up (or going on “hiatus” even). So, it’s about time we get some good news (other than Primus returning, that is). And, as always, we’re here to deliver some of that puppy dog tails and sunshine: influential Seattle indie band Carissa’s Wierd is coming together for a reunion show. How’s that for good vibrations?

The band, which formed in 1995 and broke up in 2003, will play its first show together since then on July 9th at the Showbox in downtown Seattle. Said show will feature original members Mat Brooke (who you also know from Grand Archives), Jenn Ghetto (who you also know from S), Sarah Standard, Robin Peringer, and Sera Cahoone. And if that weren’t enough, they may even bring along some special, TBD guests.

As per some reasoning for the show, we think its probably got something to do with Hardly Art announcing the release of the Carissa’s Wierd’s retrospective compilation They Only Miss You When You Leave: Songs 1996-2003, which hits stores July 13th.

More news on any long-term plans as they’re announced. Head here for pre-sale ticket details and info.
