Coming soon: iTunes Live

The latest and greatest idea out of the Apple headquarters comes in the form of a brand new something called “iTunes Live.” Like “Concert Ticket,” the idea remains in the patent stages and what exactly it is or what it does remains unclear. However, as Techcrunch reports, Apple recently filed the “iTunes Live” trademark under:

    — Class 35: Online retail store services in the field of entertainment featuring prerecorded musical, audio, and audiovisual content.

    — Class 41: Entertainment services, namely, arranging and conducting of concerts and live musical performances.

While no additional details were disclosed, geeks are already predicting everything from a cloud-based iTunes (ala the late Lala) to live concert streams. Then again, it could also mean absolutely nothing, since iTunes Live is also a name associated with the live concerts Apple holds in its stores as well as its London based iTunes Live Festival.

We’ll of course let you know if anything comes to fruition.
