Drake expands world tour, plans festival

Sometimes it’s good to get out of the house. Budding rap superstar Drake has enjoyed being Away From Home so much he’s decided to stay out until at least the end of July. The world tour is hitting Europe and Canada in addition to the U.S.

The second leg of his high-selling tour began with three straight sold out shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Denver. The tour’s next stop is Cleveland today, and the rapper will head up the East Coast until a June 6th date in New York. After that, he plays a couple of Jay-Z opening gigs in the U.K. before landing back in the States by way of St. Louis. On June 16th, Drake will play a show at the Philadelphia Fillmore — which sold out in five minutes — then cross the country for performances in Seattle and L.A.

Drake begins a European trek at Norway’s Hove Festival July 2nd and continues doing the festival circuit throughout Europe. He finds himself back in North America for the Ottawa Bluesfest on July 16th. The rest of the tour sees Drake traversing Canada, including dates in Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.

In the end, Drake will live the dream of all people reading this post right now and hold his own festival called OVO Festival, details of which are yet to come but will arrive soon on Drake’s blog, October’s Very Own.

Pretty active itinerary for a guy who doesn’t even have a friggin’ album yet. Thank Me Later comes out June 15th, by the way. Speaking of which, Drake recently announced one of the more important details of the album — its tracklist. Find more details about the guest-heavy listing here.

Tickets for the tour are available on Ticketmaster.
