After listening to Sleepy Sun‘s debut LP Embrace and the subsequent Open Eyes EP, purists can rest assured that Northern California psychedelia maintains its foothold in American rock music. And with the upcoming release of Fever, this San Francisco sextet attempts to reinvigorate “stoner rock” with a thunderous rhythm section and honey harmonies turned danger wails.
Fever will be available digitally on May 18th an at your local independent record store on June 1st. To celebrate its new LP, Sleepy Sun will be throwing a record release party June 10th in San Francisco with support from Fresh & Onlys, Moon Duo, and DJ Britt Govea from (((folkYEAH!))). Then, after shaking off the inevitable post-release part hangover, the band will be packing up its equipment and criss-crossing the Northern U.S. and Canada for a stint of soul-stirring live shows.
