Bear In Heaven certainly caught a break in being Best New Music-ed by Pitchfork. A BNM nod gains you immediate credibility and Bear In Heaven have taken advantage of their well-deserved nod. Since that time, it’s been nothing but touring and praise for the Brooklyn boys.
And why jump off the gravy train before the ride’s over? The band has decided to re-release its highly acclaimed Beast Forth Rest Mouth, this time as a double album with a remix album to accompany the original LP. The remix album will feature re-workings of Beast tracks by High Places, The Field, and Jesu, among others, and will be released on September 14th.
But don’t take that as an indication that they’re gonna take some time off. Quite the contrary: starting June 24th, they’ll kick off a massive North American/European tour that will eventually lead them all the way to Austin City Limits in October; a tour that will feature performances alongside Zola Jesus, Twin Sister, Mountain Man, and Crystal Castles.
