Some moments will shake you to the core. When you realize you are too old to date a playmate is one of them. When you see a band and note how young they look is another, like the first time I saw Born Ruffians. They are probably the same age as me, but they looked 15 while opening for Hot Chip on The Warning tour. So, figuring their looks have probably caught up with their sound, I took a peak at a recent photo. Sadly, they still look like children. Please excuse me, I’m going to go sob into a pint of ice cream now.
Joking aside, Born Ruffians are virtual veterans of the indie circuit, having also toured with Peter Bjorn and John, Caribou, and Franz Ferdinand. They recently released Say It, their second full length, inspiring the trio to leave their native Canada and visit the warmer lands California, Texas, and even the often overlooked states of Florida and Arizona. The headlining trek will spread far and wide, starting September 28th when the trek launches in Rochester, New York. So be sure to see them before they are opening for a bigger band that you don’t like.
