Check Out: Isaac Brock, the portrait

Though Modest Mouse is set to launch its latest North American tour in less than a month, the band’s fearless leader, Isaac Brock, stills finds himself engaged in a few other activities, such as posing for a portrait that’s now hanging in the office of Sam Adams, aka the mayor of Portland, Oregon. Yeah, no joke. As exemplified by the video below (via TDS), local artist Alexander Rokoff recently painted a life size oil portrait of the Modest Mouse frontman. The picture features Brock in his house, playing guitar while wearing a pair of Lederhosen, amidst a backdrop that includes a stuffed boar and a doll holding a knife. And yes, all that stuff is in his house in real life. And yes, for some reason, the Mayor chose to hang the portrait in his office. How cool.

In other news, Brock recently shared one of the Ugly Casanova tracks he contributed to 180° South, a forthcoming Chris Malloy-directed documentary about adventurers in Patagonia. It’s titled “Lay Me Down” and you can check it out below (via P4k).
