A very exclusive club of 700 Earth-folks will soon have the chance to own a box set of early Cocteau Twins stuff. The Scottish dream pop band’s first three albums, along with the 1984 EP Sunburst and Snowblind, will be out next Tuesday in a five-disc box set.
According to Slicing Up Eyeballs, the EP, along with 1982’s debut Garlands, 1983’s Head Over Heels, and 1984’s Treasure, will be reissued on 180-gram vinyl. The EP comes in a package with an additional copy of Head Over Heels. All discs are remastered from the original tapes, and Vaughan Oliver — who created artwork for Cocteau Twins and many other 4AD artists back in the day — has created new art for the set.
In case you don’t want to fork out the cash for the full box set, all three albums and the Head Over Heels/Sunburst and Snowblind combo will also have individual reissues. This will be the first time ever Treasure has been reissued.
Box Set One is going for about $76 on Amazon. It’s out already in the U.K. through Vinyl 180 and will be available to Stateside consumers June 29th.
