Local Natives team up with Love Language, Ruby Suns for fall tour

Local Natives are a trademark example of a relative unknown indie outfit that first raised eyebrows at CMJ last fall and then completely exploded onto the map at South by Southwest in March. Now, they find themselves playing Sasquatch! and gearing up for a insanely long world tour.

Specifically in regards to the latter, as you’ll see below, Local Natives aren’t set to end their current tour behind Gorilla Manor, their recently released debut full-length, until late October. In addition to two separate European legs, an appearance at Pitchfork, and an east coast US trek in early August, the Los Angeles outfit has also now scheduled a brand new leg of US dates. Launching on September 17th in LA, the 24-date trek will be highlighted by an appearance at Austin City Limits and a performance at Tulane University before ultimately wrapping up in Washington, DC on October 28th.

Also worth noting is who Local Natives will be teaming up with on the endeavor. North Carolina lo-fi’ers The Love Language will open the first half of the trek, while New Zealand pop outfit The Ruby Suns will then take their spots on the bus after ACL. San Juan Capistrano up-and-covers The Union Line will also appear on the tour.

Tickets for the newly announced dates are currently on sale via Ticketmaster.com.

Meanwhile, Local Natives are among the Los Angeles-based outfits participating in Aquarium Drunkard’s L’Aventure, a digitial compilation featuring covers of every song from Television’s 1978 album Adventure. The album will be available starting June 22nd and all proceeds go to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. You can check out Local Natives’ offering, a cover of “Careful”, below.
