It’s no secret that Mark Hoppus knows music. Whether it’s as a producer, or the bassist for Blink-182 or +44, Hoppus understands music in a unique and interesting way. Now, via Antimusic.com, the Twitter fiend is going to widen his musical influence on your life with his own talk-show this September, on Fuse.
A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus will follow the pop-punk maestro, along with a co-host and a hoard of correspondents, as he interviews bands, hosts live gigs, leads panel discussions, and offers music news on established act as well as those we need to get in on, posthaste. If you’re a big Hoppus fan, you already know it sounds a lot like the dude’s involvement with Spin, where he picks bands he’s into on a weekly basis. And, if you’re thinking this’ll be a bad 120 Minutes rip-off, worry not; Hoppus and the execs at Fuse promise this to be a light-hearted, comical show. Just ask the future host, who is “excited to force millions of people to watch me on a weekly basis on national television.”
Stay tuned for an air date, as well as details on the co-host and correspondents. Entertain yourself in the meantime with a visit to the show’s official site.
