After a middling and divisive previous effort (arguably efforts), anticipation continues to grow among Interpol fans, detractors, and skeptics alike. All are looking for that definitive piece of evidence in support of their love/hate/suspicion within Interpol’s forthcoming self-titled LP. Well, the debate can begin September 13th when Interpol hits shelves in the US (via Pitchfork). The album will be released on Matador, the label behind the band’s first two albums Turn On The Bright Lights and Antics (Our Love To Admire was released on Capitol) and will feature a slightly different lineup than the soon-to-be touring lineup.
As previously reported, Carlos D. has made his amicable exit and Interpol recruited indie heavyweight David Pajo for bass duties hereafter. Their approaching tour will see another member added to the force: Brandon Curtis of Secret Machines fame will man the keyboards and provide backing vocals on the road. Both Pajo and Curtis are being fitted for vests and tuxedo pants as we speak.
