Like Muse and Pavement, The xx is making sure to maximize visibility on its current tour. The band has employed the philosophy that going everywhere just once — or just twice — isn’t good enough. The xx has added yet more North American dates to its itinerary, extending an already lengthy summer world tour into the fall.
Per the fuckyeahthexx blog, The xx has added eight new dates, including an appearance at one of America’s premier festivals, Austin City Limits, on October 9th. Before then, the band will play late September shows in Los Angeles and Oakland before crossing the country for performances in Toronto, New York, Washington, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. The xx will then conclude its travels with a stop in Dallas the day before ACL.
You might note that several of these venues dwarf the size of venues previously visited in the same markets. So, while the group is at risk for burning itself out (and playing in potentially unsuitable venues), it’s no wonder The xx is making sure to tour like nobody’s business.
Get them tickets now; these folks know how to sell out a venue or two.
