Vivian Girls. Dum Dum Girls. Mountain Man. Yeah, Mountain Man may go a different name route than these other girl bands, but they still bring the punk fury of these tough and beautiful sister-groups. They just bring it in a folk disguise. And they really have a knack for capturing nostalgic beauty. So yeah, Mountain Man is really nothing like the other two bands, besides the girls and a great deal of pre-debut buzz.
Anyhow, Mountain Man will spend this summer on the road with the likes of Bear in Heaven, Deer Tick, and Twin Sister. Plus, they’ll appear at the Wilco Festival thingy (Solid Sound Festival) that sounds either totally awesome and creative or really weird and boring, with people here not even understanding. Like Waynestock. Made The Harbor, Mountain Man’s anticipated debut, won’t be here July 30th, but checking bands out without any pre-conceived notions can be cool. Plus, you probably get one of those bands mentioned at the top, as well. Not a bad deal. If they were making it past the Mississippi…
