After nearly imploding good ol’ Sandy, UT with his random tour itinerary, Paul McCartney continues his road trip of surprises, only this time it’s right smack in the middle of Tennessee. You guessed it! Nashville, TN.
Believe it or not, McCartney has never played the Music City before. Sure, he’s been there before. (Tennessean reports he rented a farm there for six weeks with his family in 1974.) However, neither he, nor Wings, and not even The Fab Four have ever performed in what some consider America’s musical oasis. In some respects, these rare “first-time” appearances are becoming more embarrassing than surprising.
Regardless, Macca will attack-a come July 26th, and tickets will go on-sale via Ticketmaster starting Monday, June 7th. As you’ve probably come to assume already, these tickets are near impossible to snag — but that should never discredit your search!
Meanwhile, Macca is set to appear at the White House later tonight, where he’ll receive the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. A Jack White and Dave-Grohl featuring tribute concert will follow.
