Queens of the Stone Age announces Rated R reissue

With just a few dates and a benefit gig left on Them Crooked Vultures’ upcoming schedule, Josh Homme is beginning to rev back up his main outfit, Queens of the Stone Age. Along with plans for a few festival appearances this summer, the outfit will also mark its return by reliving its classic 2000 album Rated R.

On August 3rd via Interscope/UMe, Queens of the Stone Age will unveil an expanded two-disc re-release of the album, reports Pitchfork. Disc one will feature a remastered copies of Rated R‘s original 11 tracks, while disc two will consist of a variety of b-sides (Ode To Clarissa”, “You’re So Vague”), live cuts (“Monsters In The Parasol”), and even covers of Romeo Void’s “Never Say Never” and The Kinks’ “Who’ll Be the Next in Line”. There will also be a live recording of the band’s set at the 2000 Reading Festival, including nine unreleased songs.

Ironically enough, the band will support the release by playing the 2010 Reading and Leeds Festival, as well as a few other dates. Find a full listing of the band’s upcoming schedule below.
