Kurt Cobain’s (and perhaps Matt Groening’s) favorite J-rock band Shonen Knife has been around the block more than a few times; the trio is approaching its 30th year as a band. Well, Naoko Yamano and her current bandmates will soon round the block again when they bring their classic pop-punk sound to clubs and festivals spanning North America this fall.
The band will touch down in Seattle on September 8th and stick around in the Pacific Northwest until Portland’s Musicfest NW on the 10th. Yamano and co. will then play a couple shows in the Bay Area and a couple in the Lone Star State on the way to the Atlantic. Shonen Knife will play some choice locales in the Midwest, including Cincinnati’s Midpoint Music Festival, on the way to the East Coast. The band finishes up in Canada, playing Pop Montreal on the 30th and in Toronto on October 1st.
You’ll want to check back here for tickets as they become available.
