Simon & Garfunkel are staying home this summer

Simon & Garfunkel should change the name of their current tour from “Old Friends” to “Aging Friends”. All jokes aside, S&G fans will have to settle for a different sound of silence since their rescheduled tour dates have been scrapped all together. Their official site says Garfunkel is still recovering from vocal paresis which is a condition that causes weakness of muscles in the voice box and affects pitch and the ability to transition smoothly to higher notes.

“I do feel bad about disrupting so many people’s plans,” Garfunkel, 68, told ABCNews.com, “but as I continue to mend, I can’t yet bring my ‘A’ game to a tour.”Who can blame him, though? No one wants to hear anyone say his performance was “a little pitchy dawg.”

Fans who bought tickets can receive refunds at the point of purchase or call the venue where the show was scheduled to happen.  If you’re still upset, then just grab a copy of the newest live disc – Live 1969 – which captured the boys at the height of their powers during their November tour stops almost four decades ago.
