Stars unveil fall tour

What better time to announce plans for a US tour then the week of the release of your hotly anticipated new studio album? Canadian indie rockers Stars apparently thought so too and have now announced tour dates in support of tomorrow’s release of their new album The Five Ghosts.

The new leg follows the band’s still ongoing intimate spring endeavor of the US as well as some forthcoming North American festival dates, and a UK and European tour scheduled for September. Starting in Rochester, NY on September 22nd, the band will begin the month-long endeavor. From there, they’ll head down the east coast through the south and then make their way across the mid-west before wrapping up in Detroit on October 9th. So far, no Texas or west coast dates have been unveiled, but with significant gap between the Detroit date and two already scheduled shows in Milwaukee and Minneapolis in late October, we’re guessing those are coming soon, too. Treasure Island, anyone?

Update: A whole bunch of Canadian dates have also been announced.

In the meantime, these batch of dates will first be available for purchase as part of a fan-only pre-sale. In addition to a general admission ticket to the show of their choice, those who take part in the “Stars Passenger Pre-Sale” will receive a limited-edition, signed Stars poster, an exclusive Stars t-shirt, a digital download of the new album, a souvenir lanyard and laminate and a pre-show meet-and-greet with the band. Not a bad deal if you ask me. The pre-sale will begin tomorrow starting at 10:00 AM EST on the band’s wesbite.

A general onsale will follow on Ticketmaster.com beginning Friday, June 25th.
