With a name like Capitol Hill Block Party, you’d think we were talking about some sort of weekend get together in the Nation’s Capitol. But as folks in Seattle can tell you, it’s actually a multi-day music festival that has been bringing the sights and sounds of some of our favorite bands to the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood for the last 14 years.
For the first time, the festival will consist of three days, running from July 23-25, and each one of these days will be topped by a high-profile name. Experimental rockers MGMT will kick off the festival on Friday, acclaimed hip-hop duo Atmosphere will bring the beats on Saturday, and the hard-hitting Dead Weather will cap things off on Sunday.
Other acts set to perform include Yeasayer, Blonde Redhead, !!!, Holy Fuck, Shabazz Palaces, Blitzen Trapper, Blue Scholars, Chris Pureka, Here We Go Magic, Obits, and Zola Jesus. There will also be a Seattle hip-hop showcase featuring Grynch, Spaceman, and State of the Artist.
Additional acts will be unveiled soon. In all, some 60 bands will place across three stages during the weekend.
Discounted $60 three-day passes are now available. $23 single-day tickets will go on sale starting Friday, June 4th. Click here for more information.
