The Thermals detail its Personal Life!

It’s only been a year since Now We Can See delighted our iPods, but Hutch Harris and his delectable Thermals return for more distorted, anti-establishment chaos this September. We’ve known about this, though. (Remember, they announced this fourth effort like late last year?) This time, however, we have more details, including an album cover, a tracklist, and a date when we can expect the first single.

Working with producer Chris Walla again, Personal Life “was recorded to 2″ tape and mixed to 1/2″ tape, and vinyl enthusiasts will be happy to know the vinyl was mastered straight from tape, with no computers involved.” Snazzy, huh? As for what’s inside — you know, lyrically — the band’s press release promises “darker” material, stating that the record “obsesses over love and lies with the same passion The Thermals have reserved for politics and death in the past.”

We’ll get a first taste come August 10th, when Kill Rock Stars issues the first single, “I Don’t Believe You”. As for the whole record, we’ll have to wait patiently until September 7th.

We still have that one about Canada, though.
